You know, due to Miu's mood and attention swings, the Love Hotel event could have a completely different outcome if Shuichi would act differently. It could have been really wholesome if Shuichi, after Miu begging him to impregnate her, would have slowed her down by answering something like: "Miu, we've been friends forever. You don't need my baby to make me stay with you. I would never abandon you. I will always be by your side, no matter what. Be it as your friend... or as your lover." I bet Miu would then ask for reassurance if Shuichi is serious with her, which he of course would double down on. Miu would then turn completely shy again, begging to be loving and nice to her, and there would be a possibility for her to confess and be cute. I can imagine that, due to Miu's asocial behaviour, that her childhood friend was probably the only friend she ever had in her life... if she even has had a single friend at all. She's probably lonely as fuck which is why she would see the need to have a baby with someone so that she has a lasting connection with at least somebody. Which is why her giving the right to Shuichi to date her is actually a really big deal since he is the only person willing to voluntarily spend time with her, genuinely cares for her and lets her be herself. He's the only one willing to be her friend, and Miu knows that, which is why she tried to be nice and affectionate to him by baking her hair pies or her bloody cookies. It does of course not make her attempted fantasy rape any better, but due to her loneliness, I can see why she sees it as necessary to do.
